Biography
Dr. Telles is a board-certified spine surgeon who has been part of the Sierra Pacific Orthopedics team in Fresno California since completing his spine surgery fellowship at Stanford in 2012. He is excited and honored to be joining the Mammoth Orthopedic Institute and serving Mammoth Hospital as a spine specialist.
Education
Dr. Telles attended Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. While at Dartmouth, he rowed on the crew team and studied Spanish abroad in Puebla, Mexico. In 2001, he graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in engineering with a focus in mechanical and biomedical engineering well suited to his future career. Dr. Telles then completed both his medical school training and orthopedic surgery residency at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He completed a spine surgery fellowship at Stanford University and St. Mary's Spine Center in San Francisco.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Telles has an orthopedic practice focused on the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions. He specializes in minimally invasive approaches to complex spine problems and performs both inpatient and outpatient spine procedures. Dr.Telles utilizes his training in general orthopedic surgery to allow him to evaluate patients from a whole body perspective, helping them prioritize their orthopedic needs, whether that be a spine surgery or a joint replacement.
Personal Information
In his free time, Dr. Telles enjoys time in the mountains with his family exploring the natural wonders that California has to offer. Having spent the majority of his childhood and adult life exploring the western slopes of the Sierra, he is excited to expand his reach to the East Side. A dedicated "weekend warrior”, Dr. Telles enjoys mountain biking, skiing, camping, fishing, dual-sport riding , snowmobiling and four-wheel drive vehicles. He and his wife, Kristin, have a daughter, son, and a beloved Labrador Retriever. His children ski race as part of the China Peak Ski Team and together with his family he has been enjoying trips to the Mammoth area for skiing and exploring in their camper van for years. They look forward to spending more time in this great community.
