Mike McMahon, MS, MHA, ATC, OTC
Mike McMahon is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Orthopedic Technologist. He received his Master’s degree in Athletic Training from Weber State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology with an emphasis in exercise science from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. He then went on to obtain a second Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and Management with a specialization in project management from Colorado State University. He has worked in the orthopedic clinic at Mammoth Hospital and is now the clinic manager for the Mammoth Orthopedic Institute and the Mammoth Hospital General Surgery Clinic, and is the head athletic trainer for the Mammoth Mountain Ski and Snowboard Teams and Mammoth High School athletics. He also serves as a rotational athletic trainer for the US Ski and Snowboard Teams. Mike has served as medical coordinator and provided medical coverage for numerous events including the Summer and Winter Dew Action Sports Tour, UCI BMX Supercross International, San Diego Bay Fair Boat Races, Seaside Beach Volleyball Tournament, Tough Mudder, Mammoth Half Marathon, and Ragnar Relay, among others. Mike was a member on Mammoth Medical Mission’s surgical strike team to the central Philippines in the wake of Super Typhoon Haiyan in November 2013. He is dedicated to providing up to date evidence based sports medicine and improving the care provided to our residents and guests.
